Frequently Asked Questions

What does C.I.T.Y. of Support stand for?
Children In Therapy and You
What is C.I.T.Y. Of Support's mission?
C.I.T.Y. of Support’s mission is to create a dynamic community, both online and in person, to support all families navigating the needs of their child in therapy, regardless of diagnosis.
Through free and inclusive social, educational, and outreach programs, our motivated volunteers and community partners provide access to a supportive network of allies that empowers caregivers with resources and celebrates their journey.
What makes C.I.T.Y. of Support different from other community organizations?
C.I.T.Y. of Support was created to ensure that ALL caregivers of children receiving therapy have access to a community of support.  While other support organizations have been historically available for families who have children with a familiar/recognizable diagnosis (i.e. Down Syndrome, Autism), families in the process of seeking a diagnosis or those who have received an uncommon diagnosis have not had these same opportunities.  Our organization is not diagnosis-specific, welcoming all parents/caregivers into our community. While each participant has a different history, diagnosis, plan of treatment, & prognosis, they are all experiencing similar parenting situations unique to those raising a child with a delay/disability.

Our organization is accessible for everyone.  Not only are our programs/resources provided at no cost, but we create opportunities that are both online and in-person, as we understand the challenges involved with consistent childcare and transportation.
How much does it cost to participate in C.I.T.Y. of Support?
C.I.T.Y. of Support’s innovative events & initiatives all reflect our values of connection (i.e. dads hangouts, family playdates, welcome programs), collaboration (i.e. professional networking events, parent retreats), and celebration (i.e. graduations, birthdays, close-up features). Our dedicated volunteers and generous community partners have allowed us to provide these opportunities for educational, social, and outreach all at no cost to parents, creating a truly equitable and accessible organization.
How old are the children in C.I.T.Y. of Support?
C.I.T.Y. of Support understands that a child’s chronological age does not always match their developmental age; therefore, we do not have age restrictions for our events/resources.  If you and your child would benefit from being a part of our programs, social media channels, and resources, we welcome you to participate!  Once questions focus on finding housing/employment, caregivers often seek other resources in the community for answers.  However, many of these same caregivers remain invested in C.I.T.Y. of Support to provide their perspective and advice to younger, less-experienced parents who are looking for support.
How can I help your organization?

We are an 100% volunteer-run organization and rely on the help of our community volunteers as well as your generous donations and sponsorships.
