2023 New Vision Campaign

Library Accessibility Support Collection

Thanks to generous contributions from our community, C.I.T.Y. of Support has recently sponsored the creation of the Accessibility Support Collection at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library. This dedicated space is one of the first of its kind to provide children in therapy and their caregivers the opportunity to borrow therapeutic toys/tools/print materials from the library to explore at home. We are proud to sponsor this new resource and reinforce the impact our library partnerships have in the community.

Welcome to our C.I.T.Y

Transitioning from round-the-clock care in the NICU to home can be one of the most overwhelming and frightening times for new parents. Our “Welcome to our C.I.T.Y.” program was developed specifically for brand-new parents whose newborn has been referred for therapy, especially following a NICU stay. We create gift bags for families being discharged from hospitals across Chicagoland congratulating them on the birth of their child, introducing them to local resources, and welcoming them to our supportive community. Learning about C.I.T.Y. of Support’s large, local network of parents and professionals can provide comfort, reduce feelings of isolation, and increase accessibility to information and encouragement.

C.I.T.Y's Learning Portal

Our learning portal at learn.cityofsupport.org was created for everyone. Informative on-demand webinars and engaging at-home family fun classes are accessible to all families at no cost. Additionally, professionals will find a library with self-paced, remote learning opportunities unique to C.I.T.Y. of Support and aligned with our mission. The V.I.P. Program stands for "Valuing the Insight of Parents." Unlike other continuing education courses, it was designed as a way for "parents to teach professionals" by sharing intimate perspectives that will transform the way providers treat the children and families on their caseloads.
